Yoshihisa Shimada, MD, PhD
Dr. Shimada is a cardiologist who has practised since 1995, with a career centred on acute cardiovascular care and interventional (catheter-based) cardiology. After residency training in Osaka he practised at Tsukazaki Memorial Hospital, spent three years as a research fellow at Stanford University Medical Center, and from 2007 to 2026 served at the Cardiovascular Center of Shiroyama Hospital, Osaka. He was appointed Medical Director of Dr.coming International Clinic Namba in 2026.

Standard Consultation Fee:

Prescriptions are filled at a nearby pharmacy and paid there (not included in the standard fee).
In most cases everything is covered by the standard fee. If additional tests or procedures are needed, we explain the cost before proceeding.

Medical Certificate: ¥10,000 (if required)
If your insurer requires a medical certificate, we can issue one after the examination. Additional fee: ¥10,000. Certificates can also be issued after your visit on request by email or WhatsApp (credit card payment).
Travel insurance
Check your policy with your insurer before your visit. If your assistance company has a contract with us, ask them to send us your case in advance — otherwise you pay here and claim from your insurer yourself. We cannot contact your insurer on your behalf.

STI Screening & Treatment
Some results take a few days. Testing very soon after exposure may need to be repeated later.
GLP-1 (weight loss)
Nausea and other stomach symptoms are common, especially in the first weeks. Not suitable during pregnancy and for some medical histories. We advise on suitability based on BMI and other data.
ED treatment
Common side effects include headache, flushing and nasal congestion. These medicines must not be used with nitrate heart medications. The doctor checks your health background before prescribing.
Emergency contraception
More effective the sooner it is taken. Temporary nausea or irregular bleeding can occur. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

I had a very positive experience at this clinic while travelling in Osaka. I contacted them easily via WhatsApp and was able to arrange my visit in advance. When I arrived, there was no waiting time at all. The staff were very friendly and professional. My temperature and blood pressure were checked before seeing the doctor. The doctor listened carefully to all of my symptoms, performed a thorough examination and, most importantly, never made me feel rushed. He took the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment clearly and answered my questions. Communication in English was easy throughout the entire visit. Especially as a tourist needing medical care abroad, the whole experience was straightforward and reassuring. I would definitely recommend this clinic to international visitors in Osaka.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, unless your assistance company has arranged cashless treatment with us in advance. Cashless (direct) billing is available only for insurance and assistance companies that have a contract with us and confirmed payment arrangements. For all other travel insurance, you pay at the clinic and we issue the documents you need to claim. If you have no insurance, message us on WhatsApp before your visit and we will confirm the cost with you. We are not able to contact your insurer or check your policy's claim procedure on your behalf — please ask your insurer directly.
Call the assistance number on your policy before you visit. If your assistance company works with us, they send us your case details (usually the same day), you see the doctor without paying at the front desk, and we bill them directly. If you arrive without prior arrangement, you pay at the clinic and claim later.

After your visit we give you what you need to claim yourself: We issue an itemized English receipt after every visit and, if required, a medical certificate (¥10,000; covered by your assistance company when they arranged cashless treatment).
